Tire Pressure

Motor Wheel tire pressure should be approximately 35 pounds.

Flyer tire pressure should be approximately 30 pounds.

Oil Maintenance

Oil used should be good quality 20 to 30 weight. A complete change would need no more than 14 ounces. When adding oil, add only a few ounces, and then wait 5 minutes before checking the level. The oil is very slow to run down into the engine oil pan. The sight glass at the end of the oil pan should always show full when the engine is setting level.

Carburetor and Gas Tank Information

The carburetor is a fixed jet type and will leak some.

The gas tank is to be filled no more than three-quarters full.

Flyer

If the engine is cold:

  1. put gas in the primer cup;
  2. depress pin on top of intake valve;
  3. open primer cup, letting gas run down into the engine;
  4. close primer cup.

On a Flyer, lift the wheel off of the ground and use the knob to turn the wheel, depressing the intake detent on top of the engine. Note: Total weight capacity of the Flyer is 300 pounds.

On a bicycle, hold compression lever in and pedal; open gas lever about one third and release compression lever. Caution: Shut off the power before applying the brake. Do not apply the coaster brake while the power is on. This will ruin the coaster brake. When the engine has warmed up, it should not need primed.
